I learned to play the fiddle at a young age. As teenagers I formed a french band with my twin brother Herman who played the accordion.
We played locally for a couple of years and then went into the US Navy in the early fifties. We were fortunate enough to have a few good guitar players aboard ship. When in port we played for a short time. After being discharged in December of 55 we came home and retired from playing. After a short break we started playing country and western music with a few different bands. I also played fiddle for the Stephens family for a few years which was bluegrass and gospel.
Then I started playing for Brian Soileau which is now our lead singer for the Bayou Katz. Brian and I played for a number of local bands until the Bayou Katz where formed. I must say I have never played with a finer group of young men and musicians. I consider myself very fortunate to be a member of the Bayou Katz.
